There are seven principle diamond shapes for jewellery: Round, Marquise, Emerald, Princess, Pear, Oval and Heart. Side stone options include these seven shapes as well as Baguette and Trillion.

Each shape has its own unique facets and beauty. When deciding which shape to choose, one also has to consider the Four C's of Diamonds

The 4 C's of Diamond Quality  

When looking to purchase a diamond it is important to remember the Four Cs, the characteristics which give the diamond its quality and value. These are:

Cut: a diamond's cut is what gives it sparkle and fire.

Colour: the best colour for a diamond is colourless.

Clarity: the fewer inclusions, the more rare and beautiful it will be.

Carat-weight: one carat is divided into 100 points.
